About This Scholarship

This scholarship honors the legacy of William Dale Ellzey and the sacrifices made by those who have served our country. Applicants are encouraged to reflect not only with their words, but with their character.

Eligibility

To qualify, applicants must:

Be a direct descendant (child or grandchild) of a U.S. military veteran
Be a high school senior or currently enrolled college student
Plan to attend or currently attend an accredited college, university, or trade school

How to Apply

Submit all of the following in a single PDF:

1. Completed Application Form See below for required fields.

2. Essay Respond to the following prompt in 300–500 words, typed and double-spaced:

“What does the word ‘Freedom’ mean to you, and what do you believe is the cost of freedom for Americans?”

3. Proof of Veteran Connection DD214, military ID, or equivalent documentation.

4. Proof of Enrollment or Acceptance Acceptance letter, student ID, or current transcript.
