A Memorable Day of Patriotism and Giving in San Diego

Our local Fairway Independent Mortgage Corporation teammates joined forces to give back to a deserving California veteran, and the day was filled with unforgettable moments.

One of the biggest surprises came when Jason Redman and I were personally presented with signed copies of the book Patriot Prisoner Survivor by Jim Bedinger, a local Vietnam veteran and true American hero. Jim was held as a prisoner of war for four years in the infamous “Hanoi Hilton,” and his story of resilience and courage moved everyone present.

The highlight of the day was the presentation of service dog number 370 to a California veteran. In a touching moment, Raven, the service dog, was paired with Raven, the veteran, creating an instant bond that will carry them forward as battle buddies. We are immensely grateful for our ongoing partnership with Custom Canines Service Dog Academy and their incredible team of trainers, including Bob Wendler and Barbara Norman, whose dedication makes life-changing moments like this possible.

It was an inspiring day of community, honor, and service in San Diego. We are so thankful for the support of #FairwayNation and all those who continue to help us change lives, one veteran at a time.
